So, i have noticed that #100daysproject has been going on on social media platform instagram. However, due to a lack of proper and aesthetic picture for posting plus my reel addiction, i am going to begin that challenge here. A little away from the masses, a little confined from the ashes and obscurity of my writings.

Instead of day 36, today is going to be my day 1.

27th march 2024.

I won’t be able to update daily (obviously), but I’ll try my best to do it as much as possible. My challenge will be to read an article or a few pages of books or anything, even if it is syllabus related, and then analyse it in my own words. Even if i do not publish my findings, the aim is to think and write about it. The medium of explanation doesn’t matter.

So let it begin.

Today, i revised the essay on Dalit Literature by Sharan Kumar Limbale. I am going to recap the thoughts, so there might be some ups and downs with the facts, i am really sorry for that in advance. Do not, i repeat, do not consider this for your academic purposes.

In the essay Aesthetics of the Dalit Literature, Limbale talks about the purpose and meaning of Dalit literature. He explores the background of how the Dalit Literature came to be and how it is necessary for subverting the caste system and atrocities kf the thousands of years. He covers the role of Bhimrao Babasaheb Ambedkar and education in fighting the hypocrisy of freedom and democracy practiced after the independence of India.

He also explores the meaning of Dalits and Dalit Literature along with the features and characteristics of this literature. The focus was on the differentiation of Dalit Literature with Ancient Marathi literature, modern writers, sant writers as well as the rural writers. Limbale has brought out how these writers are either against or different in their representation of Dalits. He has also covered the charges of uniformity, lack of individuality, propagandist form, and the aggression felt in the Dalit Literature.

With thousands of years of oppression and slavery over the Dalits, the Dalit consciousness has now awakened that has made possible the realisation of the slavery to the slaves. Education and literature, along with other revolutionary campaigns, are in progress to undo the degradation brought up by the caste system upon people. It is going to take much more than a few years.

That’s all I remember for now. Will return again with a new essay, article, or piece of literature and vomit my thoughts for you to read and comment upon. Feel free to rectify me and add to this chain of thoughts.
